1916-2019
KEATING (Daggett), Della Beatrice (Nee Huntley) September 28,
1916 – July 5, 2019 went peacefully to be present with her
Lord whom she loved dearly and served faithfully. Della died at GM
Nursing Home with family members lovingly at her side. (The family
wishes to express their sincere appreciation of the outstanding care
she received as a resident there.) She was predeceased by her
husbands, William Earle Daggett and Lloyd Everett Keating, and two
sons William (Billy) Daggett and Russell Daggett and her grandson
Benjamin Earle Benson. She is survived by two sons and one daughter:
Claude (Helen) Daggett, Layne (Helena) Daggett, Bonnie (Allen) Benson
and special daughters-in-law, Linda Daggett and Ida Daggett.
She was proud to be called “Gama” by 14
grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren., and 16.5 great great
grandchildren.
Della was a dedicated wife,
homemaker and mother who sacrificed much and raised her family well.
They will miss her caring compassion and her faithful prayers. After
the death of her first husband she moved to Moncton where she worked
at Atlantic Baptist College (now Crandall University) and as the
Activity Director at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Nursing
Home.
She was an active member of the local Baptist churches where
she lived (Seal Cove and North Head on Grand Manan) and Uplands
Baptist. At various times and places she was a member of the choir,
choir director and pianist, and home Bible Study leader, and a
“Dominion Life Member” of the UBWMU.
Visitation will take place at the Seal Cove Baptist Church,
on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. A memorial service will
be from the Seal Cove Church on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, internment to
follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Donations can be made in loving memory, to one of
her favorite charities, Gideons International, Seal Cove and North
Head Baptist Churches, The Vancouver Airport Chaplaincy or a
charity of the donor’s choice.
