2017 Christian Day Care Director Job Posting

 Living Waters Child Development Centre, founded in September 2002, is a Christian, non-profit daycare that provides 40 spaces for children from birth to 5 years of age.  Living Waters After School Program, founded in September 2016, provides 30 spaces for children from grades K to 5. Our centre is located in the commercial area of East Saint John at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 36 Mountain Road, Saint John, NB

Reporting to the LW Board of Directors and FHBC Church Executive and the Pastoral Staff as deemed appropriate by the Executive, the director plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the child care centre.   The Director is responsible for program planning, working effectively with staff, working with families and children and connecting with the community.  The Director is responsible for providing leadership in keeping with the philosophy, education standards and Christian principles of Forest Hills Baptist Church and the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Child Care.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the centres direction and policies in collaboration with the board of directors and church executive
  • Ensure compliance with standards, laws, and regulations
  • Support the educators in implementing Christian Education and the NB Curriculum Framework and the continuous quality improvement plans
  • Human resource management (recruiting, hiring, evaluation, ongoing coaching, leading and development of the employees, employee files)
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the child care service, compliant with provincial standards
  • Promote and represent the centre and contribute to the development of community partnerships

Requirements

  • Love of Children
  • Knowledge of the early learning and child care sector and/or a willingness to develop knowledge
  • Education or experience in human resource management, teaching, and business management

Payroll and benefits would include an annual wage in the range of $49K to $54K depending on education with an employer matched pension plan and insurances.
